November 11th, Sunday... "Homeboy in da house!" President Obama is back in the White House and there are some pissed off people in the country! I mean, what's the big deal? If G. W. Bush can do eight years, why be pissed off about Obama? If the racial component is supposed to be "non existent" why be so upset? I mean, Mitt Romney? Are you serious? It seems like every time he opened his mouth, his foot fit perfectly in it!
Look, he is a rich man and he will live very comfortably for the rest of his life but... Truth be told, the Republican Party needs to get their "sh!t" together. Their track record is butt ugly! Besides, the way the world is going, no one man may be able to "fix it!" It's a GOD thing. The job market is a mess. The housing market is a mess... The Economy is a mess and those things did not just fall apart four years ago!
Hearts have to soften and mindsets have to change before some real results surface. This has all been prophesized! It's about people and how they conduct their business. If corruption and profit is prevelant, nothing will get done. Obama may not be the best, but he damn sure ain't the worst!
Okay, I'll start... I don't have a house or a job and I'm not "bitchin'" about a damn thing! I'm breathing and that is all I can ask for. It could be worse... I could be a woman and get pregnant due to a rape and Romney could be President. GOD has a plan!

September 10th, Thursday/ Okay, if you have been sleeping and missed the confrontation between the representative from South Carolina and the President of the United States, check this out... Representative Joe Wilson (Rep. South Carolina) called President Obama a "liar" during his speech on health care the other day. Now... I don't know where people stand on this but this is where I stand. People are going to stand one way or the other on this. There will be many opinions about who said what and how it is disrespectful to heckle the President and whatever; but, The very fact that the Representative felt comfortable enough to say what he said is appalling to me. Yes, this is America and you have the right to do whatever... You also have the right to remain silent...Here is an elected official who doesn't even have the self respect or the intelligence to know what is appropriate in that setting to say what he said. How the fuck did he get elected in the first place? But it does not matter that he is elected. What matters most is how he will be treated after the fact. What is the perception of Joe Wilson now? Is he just a guy who made a mistake or is he a guy who harbors racist views?
Yeah, right, he will be forgiven and all will be forgotten by those who think the same way. He was insubordinate and probably should be kicked out of his position... But, of course, that wouldn't be American now would it?

A Warped POV by A. Dacosta Brathway
March 25th, Wednesday/ It finally happened! I was waiting for it to happened and it finally did. Eight years and I have not heard a peep but now the silence is broken. I was watching 60 Minutes Sunday night and I heard Obama get reprimanded for giggling. I'm on line today and I read that the president of the United States is being questioned about his lack of a timely response relating to the AIG bonuses. I do not recall any challenges to "W" when it was revealed that his side kick was riding the Halliburton horse all the way to the bank. Where were the questions then? I guess it is a little difficult to hear the criticisms when your head is buried underneath a desk in avoidance of another 9/11 occurrence.
Seems to me like the President is under siege for something he is just gaining knowledge of and he hasn't even been in office six months! Okay, there was Ebron and a couple more companies that made a splash and then... Nothing! The bad guys were caught, so it was reported and no more questions were asked. I do not recall the President, at the time, being held accountable for what he knew and when he should have responded to what he knew.
It's funny. I also do not recall "W" being interviewed about where his bedroom was located in the White House and whether he and his wife had breakfast in bed. I also do not profess to remembering seeing every interview every president had in my lifetime. However, it just seems odd to me that this particular president is fielding questions scrutinizing him before he has had a chance to absorb the magnitude of what he is facing.
Is it fair? Probably not. Life is not fair. But can fair play at least be considered?

March 24th, Tuesday/ I was thinking about the state of the economy and the bailouts and all of that; and then, I got to thinking about the stock market. How does it work? It seems like, to me, the slightest thing that can happen all the way across the world affects America's stock market. It's up, it's down... The Dow, NASDAQ, stocks... I don't get it.
Anyway, I was wondering, considering the climate of a portion of America's population, who are still seething over the election of Barack Obama and the way the Market is affected when a high profiled dignitary sneezes all the way across the ocean... If the President was on his way out of the country for some high powered Summit, and he got sick while walking to the helicopter and had to take a crap right on the White House lawn, what would that do to the market? I don't know... It's crazy!

January 31st, Saturday/ Happy New Year everybody! (I'm saying this like I have a whole bunch of readers!) Anyway, another year has gone by and I am truly blessed to have been allowed passage. My whole opinion has flipped since Obama slid in as President> What the France? What is going on? How did that happen? Is change really coming or am I just caught up in a weird dream that I cannot wake up from?
Don't get me wrong. I'm feeling the change but I am not feeling like because Obama is Black, Black folks in America have some sort of an advantage. I mean, I'm thinking that if I went to the White House, they would still frisk me down and ask me what the f#&k do I want with him? There are still some people who are angry that Obama got in. Here's some advice: Get over it because he can do no worse than Bush! We're lucky he even wants the job! And, squash all the talk about being qualified for the job and being ready for what is ahead. It may take 2 presidents to straighten this sh!t out! If the condition of the country was such a priority, the Texas cowboy should not have been allowed 2 terms! But hey... Let's be real. This is America! There is still racial prejudice and racial profiling and biased opinions and bigotry and deception and whatever else that is vital to keeping our great country divided. Black President, White President... What's the difference? Save some of that negative energy when a Hispanic gets in, then a White woman will get in then maybe a white gay woman will get in or maybe even a Black gay man... What do I care? I'll be dead by then.

I do not have a taste for American politics. I don't care about the process of it, the results of it, nor do I care that history is kind to it. It is a dirty process designed by dirty people who get quite rich from it. Right now History is being made in it. A Black man is running against a White woman for the Democratic nomination. I'm sure to most Americans is some big deal(?). I guess... But I'm thinking that no matter who gets the nomination and, lets say, one of those people wins the presidential election, I'm wondering how effective that person could be to exact change considering the mentality of the American people? Why am I even pondering this question? Well, I read an article in the Wall Street Journal about a woman named Valerie Benjamin who had a Hillary Clinton sticker on her van. She was waiting for a light when a man pulled up beside her, saw the sticker, rolled his window down to shout to her, "You can be for Hillary all you want, but there is no way that thing is going to win!"
Sure the statement is sexist. But is it wrong to say? America is supposed to be the poster country for freedom, but is it in good taste to voice your ignorant opinions, arbitrarily to people you don't even know just because you have the freedom to say what you want?
There is another issue here, as I see it, that speaks to what a black man or a white woman could do if they were in the White House? Would either one be able to exact change for the betterment of all races in America? By calling Hillary Clinton a "thing" clearly, to me, speaks to a population of bigotry that has not and will not go away willingly. (I can only imagine what Obama is being called to his bumper sticker face!) It's funny that there is a population of people who thought GWB was the answer for eight years. I guess he was if you like bankruptcy. Not only did he bring down a company and a baseball team, he has now managed to bring down a whole country! But hey, that's business as usual in politics in America. It seems like the attitude about politics is like what the character, Norman Gechco (is that spelled right?)in the movie "Wall Street," felt about destroying a business at the expense of the workers. Wreck it because it is "wreckable!" And with that line of thinking, maybe it is okay to be a bigot. Be one because you can if you want!

CRAP/ My Journal by Al Brathway
October 24th, Wednesday/ I just read an article Barack Obama's campaign strategy. It said that he is campaigning like he is a "regular guy." Trust me... I have no objection to the strategy but he better be careful. The last guy who campaigned that way screwed up the whole world with his "regular guy" mentality and goofy looks. I'm thinking that we need a "presidential" guy with a presidential brain who can undo what the "regular guy" did. However, if his (Obama) strategy is to act like a "regular guy" and he gets in and screws everything up (that's right, it can get worse!), he should get a "regular guy" beat down. (That could happen too considering Obama is a Black guy! They might take his behind down to Jena and comense to...) Wait a minute... I must be trippin'! Obama is not going to be President!/ CRAP!
