December 28th, Sunday... I just read a short piece that flipped my brain! (I feel concussed...) A high school basketball team was disallowed to participate in a basketball tourney because they wore "I Can't Breathe" t-shirts! Now, I did hear this last night on a sports talk radio program but I was half asleep. I thought I heard the commentator take the position that a high school student should not have a political stance because he/she is under aged. Okay, what am I not getting?
This is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave? A Constitution does exist, no? Is there such a thing as "freedom of speech?" I'm confused... Regardless of the fact that there seems to be some civil rights infractions; Not to mention the killing(s) of Black men for various reasons... I mean high school students should not take A STAND BECAUSE THEY ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL?
If the future of America is on the backs of the youth of our nation, why should they not take a stand? No civil disobedience has taken place. The very freedom that has been taken advantage of by those who are doing the judging is being made a mockery of, in my opinion. But, I have to understand that an opinion is a judgment as well and maybe mine does not count(?)! Maybe their opinion should not count either but... Oh, I get it. They are running the tournament! You cannot play because (WE) say you can't! And, why be threatened by a t-shirt? Maybe no one should play because they are simply out of breath?
Miscellaneous Turds are the rants of an invisible man. Now these rants will not be malicious or mean spirited. However, they will be outragous and quazi rediculous! If you find yourself offended in anyway just remember that it is not about you! (And, you can get your own blog and post your own ideas!)

A Warped POV by A. Dacosta Brathway
September 12th, Monday... DAMN! The summer's over! Now what? The weather's changing and I need a plan. Maybe I'll put more time into watching sensible television? Maybe I will watch more football and basketball? I'll focus on the action more. Pay attention to the statistics. Maybe I'll pay more attention to who the players are? Maybe I'll go to more live games? I used to coach basketball... I might show up to see who's coaching what team now and reminisce about old times? Maybe the spirit of old rivalries will crop up and old scores will have to be settled? Maybe I'll get pissed off like I used to and start fights, only to have to be escorted out by security and question them about knowing who I am (was), which will fall on deaf ears because I haven't coached in 30 years and they won't know who the fuck I am, or was! Maybe I'll be hauled off to jail for being a public nuisances and create a criminal record that will follow me the rest of my life. (I'm 60 now!) Maybe I will set a bad example for the kids...! Maybe no one will want me around, like they did when I did coach?
Now that I really think about it, maybe I'll just stay home and watch games on television.

A Warped POV by A. Dacosta Brathway
July 14th, Thursday... DAMN! The summer months are messed up for sports fans! No football business (unless you call the lockout REAL football business!), the NBA lockout... Unless you are a Derek Jeter fan, a fan fell over the rail trying to catch a short thrown baseball! That's just bad news! Wait a minute... The women's World Cup soccor team is winning! Does anybody really care? No hockey news to speak of. Shit! It's just hottttt!!!

A Warped POV/ Addendum by A. Dacosta Brathway
July 8th, Wednesday/ Okay, c'mon with the Michael Jackson tribute ad-nauseam! Let's honor the King of Pop for who he is (was). He was the straight up man in pop music, hands down. But MJ making Magic Johnson a better basketball player by inspiring him to be more of a showman on the court? I am willing to bet that every time MJ took to the playgrounds to "straight up" ballm MJ was no where in his thought pattern. Ballers are ballers! Now, if I saw Magic back his man down in the paint by "moonwalking," spin like a top and then do the ballerina toe move while making a layup...
